The inaugural column, Fiscal Policy Lessons From the States, discusses how states must address unfunded pension liabilities and argues that low-tax states outperform high-tax states on economic issues.
Williams is the director of the Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force for ALEC, where he works with state legislators and the private sector to develop free-market fiscal policy in the states. Before joining ALEC, Williams served as staff economist at the Tax Foundation, writing numerous tax policy studies.
