Installation Guide to Tax Analysts' OneDisc Premium DVD
Install using the install code on the package. Each new DVD must be installed.

Recommended System Requirements
  • Intel-compatible 750 MHz Pentium III or higher
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 70 MB hard drive space
  • DVD 16X drive or better
  • Windows XP Professional/Home with latest service pack and updates
  • Windows Vista with latest service pack and updates
  • Internet Explorer 6 or better with latest patches
  • A network adapter (can be dial-up networking) and TCP/IP protocol stack
  • Enable Active Scripting
  • Allow cookies

Installation (Single) [Click for PDF]

Note: Some anti-virus software interferes with InstallShield®; if you encounter an installation problem, disable your anti-virus software and try again. Also, prior to installing the program, please close any other applications because the InstallShield may require your computer to reboot after the installation is completed.
  1. Insert the OneDisc Premium DVD into your DVD drive. From the desktop, select Start and then Run.
  2. From the Run window, enter: [Your DVD Drive:\]SETUP.EXE in the dialog box titled Open. The browse button may be used to look for “setup.exe” on your DVD drive. Select OK to continue.
  3. After reading the Welcome window, press Next to continue.
  4. After reading the License Agreement, select Yes to continue installation. If you choose No, Setup will close.
  5. When prompted, enter your name, the name of your company, and your Install Code (note: the install code can be found on the inside of your DVD packaging).
  6. From the Choose Destination Location window, select Next to accept the default destination folder. To change the default directory, select Browse to display the Choose Folder window, select the directory you wish, press OK. Alternately, type a new destination path in the Destination Folder dialog box.
  7. Select Next to accept the default directory in the Specific Applications Settings Directory window or change it to your preference. [Note: This cannot be a sub-category of the Program Files directory on Windows Vista.]
  8. Select Install to begin installation.
  9. From the Setup Complete window, select Finish. If the Launch option box is checked, the program will automatically start.

Uninstall Instructions
  1. Close the program.
  2. From the desktop, select Start | Settings | Control Panel.
  3. Select Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Select Tax Analysts OneDisc Premium.
  5. Select Remove.
  6. Select Yes to remove Tax Analysts OneDisc Premium.
  7. Select Finish to complete uninstall.

Networking the DVD

Networking the DVD requires the installation of the Network Component, and then the Client Component.

Note: If you wish to install the network component on your server/network share, you MUST physically run SETUP.EXE from the server. In addition, the server must be a Windows-based system, such sa Server 2000 or Server 2003.

Before installation, please note your mapped network and DVD drive letters. The following instructions assume that D: is the DVD drive letter. Substitute your drive letters where applicable (you may use UNC path instead of mapped network drives.

Installing the Network Component [Click for PDF]
  1. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive of your computer or server.
  2. From the Start menu, select Run.
  3. From the Run dialog box, enter D:\SETUP.EXE and click OK to continue (InstallShield® Wizard will launch).
  4. Read the Welcome screen and click Next to continue. After reading the Software License Agreement, accept the license agreement to continue the installation. If you do not accept the license agreement, the SETUP will terminate.
  5. When prompted, enter your name, the name of your company, and your install code (note: the install code can be found on the inside of your DVD packaging).
  6. From the Choose Destination Folder dialog box, select a shared network drive (or UNC path), and click Next. The OneDisc Premium must be installed to a subfolder from the root directory.
  7. From the Specify Application Settings Directory dialog box, select the default or choose a directory for application settings. Click Next.
  8. From the Specify Server Name and Port dialog box, select the default or change the Port Name or Server Name. Then select Next.
  9. From the Ready to Install the Program, select Install to begin the installation. Set up will start copying files. [Note: The size of the data files is 3.3. GB, which could take a significant amount of time to copy to your network drive].
  10. From the Setup Complete dialog box, select the Finish button.

Note: When the network files are copied to the specified network directory, the client setup files are also copied to the same directory.


Installing the Client Component [Click for PDF]

Note: The Client Component installation must be run from the network drive and not the DVD drive.
  1. From the client desktop, select Start and then Run.
  2. From the Run dialog box, enter [network path specified during the Network Component installation]\SETUP.EXE and click OK to continue (InstallShield® Wizard will launch).
  3. Read the Welcome screen, and click Next to continue.
  4. After reading the Software License Agreement, click Yes to continue the installation. If you do not accept the license agreement, click No. SETUP will terminate.
  5. From the first Choose Destination Location dialog box, either click Next to accept the default destination, or select Browse to enter a new drive and directory name. Then click Next. (SETUP will install the client program files to this location on the local machine.)
  6. From the second Choose Destination Location dialog box, enter the network path to the NFO directory, which was specified in step 6 of installing the network component.
  7. From the Ready to Install the Program, select Install to begin the installation
  8. Click the Finish button when the installation is completed. If the "I would like to launch the OneDisc Premium" option box is checked, the program will start automatically.



Launching the Program

From the Start menu, select Programs, then Tax Analysts OneDiscPremium (default folder at installation). Then select Tax Analysts OneDisc Premium.
